Curriculum

The course of study for the Baccalaureate program consists of three major components:

University core curriculum course work consists of a series of courses in sciences, fine arts, humanities, English, mathematics, communication, health, multicultural and interdisciplinary studies.
Social work major course work provides a professional social work foundation that includes content on:

—Human behavior and the social environment
—Social welfare policy and services
—Populations at risk
—Research
—Social work practice
— Field Practicum
—Social work values and ethics
—Human diversity
—Social and economic justice
—Practice in rural areas

General University electives may be taken to complete a minor in a related field or they may be selected to meet your individual interests and career goals.
